The story of Chronicler X begins with seeing (and experiencing) that we humans love to receive letters.  Period.  We do.  

We also want to feel valued.  Since I see you as precious - even sacred - it’s important that you get that message in a tangible way.  Letters do that.  I know of nothing else that does that so beautifully, do you?

I’m Lea Williams, (“lee”) compulsive creator of written and photographed images.

You know:  we all have gifts.  After years as travel writer, publicist and editor; being on-air in radio and doing photo gallery shows, it’s very clear this is my gift.  Creating letters that take you on illuminating, comforting adventures. 

There are two messages floating around about letters now:

1.  they’re a “lost art”  (don’t get me started!)

2.  we miss getting them.  In fact, we get positively dewy-eyed, remembering when we did get them.

So starting Chronicler X was both  “not so fast, buster!” and  let me give you that lovely pleasure again.  You can have it again! 

Now, of course Chronicler X is not the one and only letter subscription.  So why this one?  

Well, this one responds to  --

your desire to learn, explore and drink in some lovely adventures in the wide world.  

And your longing for the comfort and uplift of letters.  

First, the giddy joy of seeing it your mailbox.  Then the reading - the escape, the discoveries and even the delicious feel of the heavy, textured paper.  

One subscribers said each letter is “a little trip that makes you want another.”  I deeply believe you deserve that.

What’s next?  Oh, sooo much.

- the letters recorded and distributed -- especially for those vision-impaired and with other disabilities.  It’s very, very important at Chronicler X be completely, lovingly inclusive.

-  all letters in Spanish.  Translated and promoted -- again, because sharing should be limitless.

-  a new series, written and designed for 4th to 6th graders.  To inspire learning, exploring and a love of letters.

-  books of letters - words and photos.  First one:  on Morocco.

That’s what Chronicler X does... and why.  It’s my gift to you. Beautiful, deserving, adventurous you.  It would delight me no end if you chose to receive it.
